Building Guidelines:

Ideas: - Submit your idea of obstacle & area # before building to the event coordinator at Obstacle & Area Form - CLICK HERE so we don’t have several duplicates of the same obstacles.

Flow: - While designing your obstacle keep in mind the flow of the whole course so lines are not confusing to newcomers to the trails.

Safety: - Keep peoples general safety in mind when designing & building how the obstacle will be used while crawling on the course. (Examples – Pay attention to sharp corners & protrusions, exposed tips of long screws, Glass that could be broken and become a hazard, eye level hazards for kids and adults, etc.)

Names: - Think of a name for your obstacle while building it, so you can name it before the judging event.

Materials: - Any choice of material can be used, We have a on site community contributed building supply material area that is free to use for your construction, you can bring items additional items out to construct on site or build at home and assemble on site, please No Styrofoam & please No large areas of glass – No Hazardous materials, example (Old asbestos shingles, etc.) No TRASH.

During Construction:

    • Digging into the ground to create an added feature to your obstacle is ok.
    • Cutting of small trees & brush to clear or use to build within course obstacle is ok. Do not cut any tree over a 6” Caliper measured at the trunk of the tree. Caliper = the width of the tree trunk measured from one side to the other.
    • Nailing and screwing items to trees is ok where necessary to hold an obstacle
    • We have all corners of the Zones Flagged and Labeled - Each Zone is approx 50'x50'
